Sri Ramakrishna Suprabhatam

धर्मस्य हानिमभित: परिदृश्य शीघ्रं

कामारपुष्कर इति प्रथिते समृद्धे ।

ग्रामे सुविप्रसदने ह्यभिजात देव

 श्रीरामकृष्ण-भगवन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥१॥

Seeing the decline of dharma everywhere, you quickly took birth in a good brahmin family of a prosperous village named Kāmārpukur. O Shining One! O Ramakrishna, your glorious morning has arrived. (1)

बाल्ये समाध्यनुभव: सितपक्षिपंक्तिं

संदृश्य मेघपटले समवापि येन ।

ईशैक्य-वेदनसुखं शिवरात्रिकाले

श्रीरामकृष्ण-भगवन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥२॥

In your childhood, you experienced samādhi when you saw a line of white cranes against the backdrop of dark clouds. During Śivarātri, you experienced the bliss of oneness with Śiva. O Ramakrishna, your glorious morning has arrived. (2)

नानाविधानयि सनातन-धर्म-मार्गान्

क्रैस्तादि-चित्रनियमान् परदेश-धर्मान्

आस्थाय चैक्यमनयोरनुभूतवांस्त्वं

श्रीरामकृष्ण-भगवन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥३॥

Having practiced the various traditions of the Sanātana Dharma and also Christianity and other religions from abroad, you experienced their essential unity. O Ramakrishna, your glorious morning has arrived. (3)

हे कालिकापद-सरोरुह-कृष्णभृङ्ग

मातु: समस्तजगतामपि सारदाया: ।

ऐक्यं ह्यद‍र्शि तरसा परमं त्वयैव

श्रीरामकृष्ण-भगवन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥४॥

You are like the dark bee at the lotus feet of Kālī. You quickly perceived the absolute identity between Sāradā and the Divine Mother of the entire universe. O Ramakrishna, your glorious morning has arrived. (4)

राखाल-तारक-हरींश्च नरेन्द्रनाथम्

अन्यान् विशुद्ध-मनस: शशिभूषणादीन् ।

सर्वज्ञ आत्मवयुनं त्वमिहानुशास्सि

श्रीरामकृष्ण-भगवन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥५॥

You are omniscient. You taught the knowledge of the ātman to Rākhāl, Tārak, Harī, Narendra and other pure souls such as Śaśibhūṣaṇ. O Ramakrishna, your glorious morning has arrived. (5)

नित्यं समाधिजसुखं निजबोधरूपं

आस्वादयन् तव पदे शरणागतांश्च ।

आनन्दयन् प्रशमयन्नुपतिष्ठसे त्वं

श्रीरामकृष्ण-भगवन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥६॥

You continuously experience the bliss of samādhi through Self-knowledge and dwell here granting joy and peace to those who have taken refuge at your feet. O Ramakrishna, your glorious morning has arrived. (6)

स्वीकृत्य पापमखिलं शरणागतैर्यद्

आजीवनं बहुकृतं दयया स्वदेहे ।

तज्जातखेदनिवहं सहसे स्म नाथ

श्रीरामकृष्ण-भगवन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥७॥

You bear the physical pain resulting from compassionately taking upon yourself the bad karma done throughout their lives by those who have taken refuge in you. O Ramakrishna, your glorious morning has arrived. (7)

प्रात: प्रणामकरणं तव पादपद्मे

संसारदु:खहरणं सुलभं करोति ।

मत्वेति भक्तिभरिता: प्रतिपालयन्ति

श्रीरामकृष्ण-भगवन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥८॥

“Bowing down at your feet in the morning makes it easy to remove the suffering in saṁsāra”—knowing this and filled with devotion, we are waiting for your darśan. O Ramakrishna, your glorious morning has arrived. (8)

गातुं स्तुतीस्तव जना अमृतायमाना:

संप्राप्य दर्शनमिदं तव पादयोश्च ।

धन्या नरेश भवितुं मिलिता: समीपं

श्रीरामकृष्ण-भगवन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥९॥

To sing your nectar-like glories and to be blessed by the darśan of your feet, O Leader of All, devotees have gathered near you. O Ramakrishna, your glorious morning has arrived. (9)

सन्दाय दर्शनसुखं शरणागतेभ्यो

मोहान्धकारमखिलं त्वमपाकुरुष्व ।

ज्ञानार्क भक्तिजलधे सकलार्तिहन्त:

श्रीरामकृष्ण-भगवन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥१०॥

O Sun of Knowledge! Please remove the total darkness of delusion from those who have surrendered to you and give them the bliss of your darśan. O Ocean of Love! O Destroyer of all sorrow! O Ramakrishna, your glorious morning has arrived. (10)

आहैतुकीति करुणा किल ते स्वभावो

दुष्टा: कठोरहृदया अपि ते भजन्ते ।

त्वामेव सर्वजगतां जननि प्रपात्री

श्रीसारदेश्वरि रमे तव सुप्रभातम् ॥११॥

O Ruler of the Universe! O Lakṣmī!  O Mother and Protector of the Universe! Knowing that unconditional love is your very nature, even the hardhearted and wicked worship you. Mother Sāradā, your glorious morning has arrived. (11)

सुप्तांस्तु भारतजनान् स्ववच: प्रहारै-

रुद्बोधयन् विवशयन् निजधर्ममार्गे ।

प्रोत्साहयन् परमतां प्रकटीकरोषि

वीरेश-दत्त-महिमन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥१२॥

Your greatness has been revealed through your waking up the sleeping people of the world through your thumping words, inspiring and encouraging them on their path of dharma. O Great One descended from Śiva! Your glorious morning has arrived. (12)

॥ श्रीरामकृष्ण-भगवन् तव सुप्रभातम् ॥

śrī-rāmakṛṣṇa-bhagavan tava suprabhātam.

O Ramakrishna, your glorious morning has arrived.

[Give me the strength to make the best use of this gift—this morning and this day—without forgetting you.]
